A New Technology for wind turbines is now being used in Spain. These are called blade less wind turbine, it consists of a vertical fixed cylinder with an extended rod.

These blade less turbine works as the wind causes the cylinder to oscillate , an alternate system converts this movement into Electricity. They are also small and suitable for urban areas because they are quieter than other wind turbines.

The lack of blades and gearboxes reduces the maintenance requirement and increases the lifespan of the turbine.

The future of wind turbines are beginning to be more nature friendly and cost-effective, with more New inventions we will see wind turbines making more electricity and having less wind turbines to do it.
