The first quantum processing unit

Microsoft has unveiled Majorana 1 the first quantum processing unit , it is designed to scale a million qubits on a single chip. The Majorana 1 uses a new material that combines indium arsenide and aluminum.

The materials are cooled to near absolute zero then turned with magnetic fields. This produces great superconduting nanowires with Majorana zero modes ( MZM) at the wires ends. These MZM are more stable and is not affected by environmental interference.

The Majorana 1 is about the size of your hand , it represents the new way to build quantum computers and will be the breakthrough of putting it in computers and smartphones. I think it won't be to long before we can see these chips made for every devices.
