Maglev trains are mostly futuristic and the fastest trains today, they float over guideways using magnetic technology to replace the steel wheels of the train.

So having these train requires different tracks. If this is so it's going to take a long time to make a entire connection of tracks for it and removing all old tracks. There a some Maglev trains that do run on old tracks but not at the same speed.

A company called Ironlev in Italy has made a levitation train which is also driverless. The trains works on regular old tracks when the magnetic skids lifts the train by making contact with the old rails. This makes it possible for new Maglev trains to run on existing tracks and without making new infrastructure for the new trains to run on. It's possible to see a Maglev train running on an old track and prevent the cost of making an infrastructure of new tracks. This would be the start of the Maglev high speed trains running on the old track without making there own tracks.
