The End of Utility Poles

Some say the end of utility poles is soon because everything is going wireless. In the state of New York homeowners are encouraged to get solar panels because it cheaper than buying electricity from empire solar.

The average U.S home uses 10,632 kilowatts-hours of electricity per year, thats about 15-20 solar panels. So the idea of independent energy is not to far away and it is possible. Also New York offers a few financial incentives for solar power and it's not only homes but businesses. While this may take a while two other wire corporations are going to go wireless. The phone companies are starting are choosing cellphones over landline phones in 2004 around 80% of people in the U.S owned a landline phone now in 2024, 27% owns a landline and it keeps dropping. So there are no more wires going into most homes for phones. The basic reason for this is the plan the phone companies gives, it cheaper for a family to each receive a cellphone for safety and convenient reasons making it the most desirable option. There was a time if you were born in the 90s and earlier, when you were home you would have to wait your turn to use the phone because you could have 2 phones in the house but they were both connected, how the times have changed. The next utility pole user is the cable network and this is another company that’s fading fast, 40% of households in the US has cable subscription in 2024. I live in my home in New York and I don't have cable primarily because of the wires, you would have to make holes in the wall just to receive cable in the house, so having a firestick was better it is wireless.

Some people say the utility poles will never go away , some say it's an eyesore to see all of these wires. It will take a while, homes in New York are going all electric by law in 2026. Eventually they might have a law that all houses should have solar panels, why not it's cheaper. It will take a few years but I think it will happen. Eventually neighborhoods will be like this.
